Job Purpose:

Safeguarding the well-being of employees and maintaining a secure work environment in compliance with safety regulations is the primary mission of the Health & Safety Officer at Agile Consultants, Dubai.


Job Responsibilities:

Monitoring and Assessing Safety Situations: Constantly evaluating the workplace for hazardous and unsafe conditions.


Developing Safety Measures: Implementing measures to ensure the safety of personnel.


Correcting Unsafe Acts or Conditions: Taking necessary action through the appropriate channels to rectify unsafe situations.


Exercising Emergency Authority: In critical situations, utilizing emergency authority to prevent or halt unsafe acts.


Incorporating Safety Messages: Ensuring that every Incident Action Plan includes essential safety messages.


Identifying Safety Concerns: Actively participating in planning meetings to identify potential health and safety issues in daily work operations.


Safety Implications Review: Thoroughly reviewing the Incident Action Plan for any safety implications.


Investigating Accidents: Conducting comprehensive investigations of accidents within the incident areas.


Implementing Site Safety and Health Plan (SSHP): Preparing and executing the Site Safety and Health Plan for effective risk management.


Conducting Site Inspections: Regularly inspecting the workplace to ensure it remains free from hazards.


Conducting Toolbox Meetings: Organizing toolbox meetings to promote safety awareness.


Verifying Completion of Injury Logs and Reports: Ensuring all injury logs and reports are accurately filled out.


Ensuring Adequate and Safe Tools/Equipment: Verifying that all tools and equipment are safe and appropriate for use.


Promoting Safe Practices: Actively encouraging and enforcing safe practices at the job site.


Training and Drills: Conducting training sessions and emergency drills for effective emergency management.


Accident and Near-Miss Investigations: Investigating all accidents and near-miss incidents.


Job Hazard Analysis: Performing thorough job hazard analyses.


Protecting Workers from Hazards: Vigilantly safeguarding workers from entering hazardous situations.


Addressing Safety Concerns: Responding to employees' safety concerns and taking necessary action.


Hazardous Waste Management: Coordinating the registration and removal of hazardous waste.


Providing Safety Instruction: Advising and instructing employees on various safety-related topics, including noise levels and machinery usage.


Conducting Risk Assessment: Performing risk assessments and ensuring the implementation of preventative measures.


Identifying Non-Conformity: Inspecting premises and work to identify any issues or non-conformities, such as improper use of protective equipment.


Overseeing Installations and Maintenance: Supervising installations, maintenance, and disposal of substances to maintain safety standards.


Halting Unsafe Acts/Processes: Taking immediate action to stop any processes or actions that pose danger to workers' health.


Incident Recording and Investigation: Recording and investigating incidents to determine root causes and handling worker's compensation claims.


Preparing Reports: Compiling reports on occurrences and providing statistical information to upper management.


Job Requirements:

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:


Minimum of 3 to 4+ years of relevant experience in the health & safety field, with at least 2+ years of work experience in the UAE.


Graduation/Diploma in Safety Engineering, Engineering, or a related field.


Mandatory NEBOSH certificate to showcase expertise in health and safety.


Thorough knowledge of health and safety rules and regulations.


Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.


Keen attention to detail to identify potential hazards and conduct thorough investigations.


High level of accountability and responsibility.


Effective communication skills to interact with teams and management.


Proficient in incident investigation techniques.


Continuously focused on professional development to stay updated with industry best practices.
